Bab El Oued City

Synopsis

This film describes the current political situation in Algeria, through the contradictions in the life of a youth. Speakers are attached to the roof of a neighboring house, and emit the call to prayer five times a day. The loudness and frequency of the call provoke a series of incidents which reflect the frustrations and violence of Algeria today.
