Synopsis
The film retraces the events which took place in Beirut between 1982, the date the Israeli troops occupied Lebanon, and 1991 during which time the Lebanese army commanded by General Aoun, crushed by the Christian Militia. Charles Lushington, a prominent English professor specializing in Middle-Eastern affairs, senses Israeli intervention. Encouraged by the Israeli Ambassador in London, Charles decides to go to Beirut himself. Through his encounter with Leila, a young Lebanese woman, Charles experiences another point of view, which reveals the complexities of this conflict maze, putting into question all of his previous convictions.
