Synopsis

Benjamin Abrahão was a Lebanese immigrant who arrived in Brazil in 1910. He subsequently went to Brazil's North-eastern hinterland to assist Padre Cicero—a kind of religious legend to Brazilians in the 1930s. It is there that he first meets and then joins the infamous outlaw Lampião. He followed and filmed the gang - the sole images of the outlaw gang ever recorded. Abrahão was murdered two months prior to the extermination of Lampião and his men, which brought the so-called "cangaço" or outlaw movement in the Northeast of Brazil to an end.
