Synopsis
In 1952, Bill Rohan is 18 and wanders along the riverside where his family has a house. His daydreaming is interrupted by the Korean War, the draft, and the harsh reality of the military camp where he trains. He meets Percy, becomes friends, and after their induction, they are sent to Korea as instructors in a training camp, facing challenges against an unbearable sergeant and exploring the outside world, while Bill falls in love with an unattainable girl.

In 1952, Bill Rohan is 18 and wanders, dreamy and happy, along the riverside where his family has a house. His daydreaming is interrupted by the Korean War, the draft, and the harsh reality of the military camp where he trains. He meets Percy, becomes a close friend, and after their induction, they are sent to Korea. They find themselves as instructors in a training camp, plotting against an unbearable sergeant while also making excursions into the outside world. During one of these, Bill falls in love with an unattainable girl.
