Synopsis

Rome is occupied by the Nazis, while life stories cross. Pina loves Francesco, an illegal printer; Manfredi is the leader of the Roman Resistance Movement; Father Pietro, a parish priest, accepts a difficult chore. After Francesco is arrested and brought away by the Nazis on a truck, Pina is killed running after him, Manfredi is tortured to death and Father Pietro shot.
