Stromboli

Synopsis

Karin is a refugee. In order to remain in Italy, she marries a sailor from the Stromboli Island of Sicily. Soon their different mentalities and the harsh lifestyle on the island strain the couple. Hated by the town folk and practically indifferent to her husband, Karin runs away, reaching the peak of the volcano, where she asks God for the strength to survive.
