Synopsis
In 1921, Ewa Cybulski and her sister Magda sail to New York from Poland in search of a new life. Upon arrival at Ellis Island, they are separated due to Magda's illness. Ewa is released into the streets of Manhattan, where she encounters a charming but wicked man who forces her into prostitution. She later meets Orlando, a debonair magician, who offers her a chance to escape her dire situation.
