Synopsis

Based on the cult novel by Irvine Welsh. Smart, funny, sick and sometimes just plain unconscious. Mark Renton is a hero for our times. His life, a garbled mixture of sex, drugs, rock and roll and football, is a bit of a mess. What with the boredom and the scams and the drinking and the unconventional courtship rituals, he barely has time to cook up his next fix. And then there's the bunch of losers, liars, psychos, thieves and junkies he has to call friends. Now once in a while he'd like to get away and quit this habit of a lifetime but poor Mark Renton just cannot kick it. The boy can't help it. He's in love with this world.
