Synopsis

Folk art always absorbed historical occurrences while shaping and influencing the embedded culture. The Armenian folk dancing is no exception to this. In every small band gesture, a gentle spin, a delicate posture, contrasting and vivacious costumes, and in the sharp, vibrant and mournful music it is very easy to see the pain and joy of a people determined to live against all odds. The film is a tribute to the spirit of this dance form, the passion of the dancer, and to the refined and well-preserved tradition that has passed from one skilled generation to another throughout the centuries.
